In addition to being an incredible athlete and illustrative artist, Heru is truly a representative of our community’s spirit, engaging for years in furthering the growth of Sports Throwing in Indonesia. A high school educator in biology by career, he often participates in community activities, especially those involving outdoor recreation and exploration as he is a lover of nature. His passion for making constructive impact on all communities of which he is a part is as strong as his talents, reflected brightly in his athletic and artistic accomplishments as well as in his work to advance Sports Throwing in his country.
Boasting a heavily active throwing career twelve years and counting, Heru has been a leading member of and public figure in D’lempar Pisau Indonesia, the nation’s biggest Sports Throwing athletic organization, since 2012. He tells us people know him best for his skills in his favorite categories, full-spin knife and tomahawk, and enjoys walkback and overall dynamic throwing. Not including the Aim Games, he has competed in over 30 national and international tournaments, in person and online, taking many high placements and victories along the way. A true ambassador for Sports Throwing in his nation, Heru is one of the members of the Black T Bearer of D’Lempar Pisau Indonesia, a group of individuals dedicated to establishing knife throwing as a recognized sport under the Indonesian National Sports Committee, and in 2017, was one of the declarators of the establishment of FORLEMPIKA (the Federation of Knife and Axe Throwing Sports of Indonesia), which later became PORLEMPIKA (the Association of Knife and Axe Throwing Sports of Indonesia). He even initiated knife throwing as an extracurricular activity at the school where he teaches. When asked how it all started, Heru tells us, “The first person to influence my career in knife throwing was Chief Ramlan, one of the founders of D’Lempar Pisau Indonesia. Additionally, my wife and children have always been a source of support for everything I do in this sport, motivating me to continue pursuing my passion for knife throwing.”
When it comes to the Aim Games, Mr. Puspito has been an accomplished participant early on, having played in thirteen tournaments since ‘K10 4 Meter Zone” and submitted art for ten different tournament themes since ‘K14 Ultimate Bullseye Challenge.’ Reflecting on his experience with our programs, he tells us, “I enjoy game designs that not only focus on competition but also train accuracy, consistency, and concentration in unique ways, with unpredictable and non-monotonous challenges.I also appreciate the emphasis on discipline in Aim Games, as the scoring system is truly transparent and accountable, visible to anyone anywhere in the world. Honesty is a key and essential aspect of these games.”
