History of The Aim Games

Founder and Innovations

Founded by Rick "The Rocket" Lemberg, a Hall of Fame World Champion and long-time mega-tournament host, The Aim Games started in 2015 as a vision to create a global sports throwing community. Rick invented and standardized several sports throwing disciplines, including Fast-Draw Knife Throwing, Speed Throw Knife, Silhouette Knife Throwing, Obstacle Course Knife Throwing, and Long Distance Throwing for both knives and axes.

Expansive Career and Contributions

After hosting five Wild West Arts Club (WWAC) International Convention World Championships in Las Vegas and numerous other major tournaments, Rick spent years touring, demonstrating, and competing in sports throwing globally. He appeared on television for over 100 hours and conducted 188 Impalement Shows. Rick also educated the US Marine Corps and NASA astronauts on knife throwing techniques at JSC Houston.

Establishment of The Aim Games

Rick founded The Aim Games as a purely altruistic endeavor, initially funding the tournaments with over $275,000 from his own resources. The organization, now a 501(c)(3) non-profit, has grown exponentially under his leadership, hosting 26 themed 80-day tournaments that have awarded thousands of high-quality throwing implements and other prizes.

Global Reach and Community Impact

The Aim Games has created a substantial global community, reaching athletes in 34 countries and expanding the sports throwing culture. It is recognized for its inclusivity, allowing competitors of all genders and ages to participate equally and fairly. The games promote continuous improvement and celebrate every athlete's personal best as a new record.

Technological Advancements and Future Vision

Under Rick's guidance, The Aim Games has embraced technology to enhance fairness and engagement. The organization uses an advanced automated scoring system and has plans to incorporate AI and other new technologies to refine the accuracy of competition assessments. The Aim Games are set to continue evolving, aiming to increase their impact and expand their offerings globally.

The Rocket Collections Museum

Rick also maintains the "Rocket Collections Museum of Knife and Axe Throwing," the world's largest collection of throwing knives, which features over 1,500 items on display and serves as an educational resource on the history and art of knife and axe throwing.
