The Aim Games sharpened up my 3m knife and axe more than any training could. I’ve always liked mountain man throwing and I’ve cut a ridiculous number of cards in past tournaments. The games have impacted me in ways I’ve not thought about till now. I’ve won enough T-shirts to only wear throwing shirts every day. They’re the reason I keep a phone charger in my bag. I’ve had some of my best scores after just getting home and having a quick throw after charging my phone at work. My partner and kids play. My kids actually grew up playing the Aim Games.  My daughter Jessie first entered in 2020 for K15: The shield and my son Caleb in 2018 for K9: 4-Meter Zone. I’ve made so many good friends overseas from participating. I’m hoping to take a stencil to the “Nomad Warriors” club soon so I’m sure we will all have a go. It’s always been a great discussion point after playing the latest Aim Game at the club. I think the main benefit I’ve seen at clubs is the community interactions that these tournaments bring.

Since competing in the Aim Games, I’ve only had to buy three knives, as all my others were from tournament prize packages. I know others in the UK throwing clubs that have done really well in the Aim Games as well. The prize money I and my partner have won have gone to many things. She is a children’s illustrator so she’s very good at the aimgames art competition. We brought our son a computer after we both did quite well. Computers for the kids, new carpets, bills. I’ve just brought a 3-D printer for my son and I’ve treated myself to some new art materials.  I won a large pen marker set from the Aim Games Themed Art Contest for K15: The Shield, and they definitely changed the way I color. I used to paint with acrylic. Now it’s a lot quicker. Before that contest, I hadn’t really done any drawing or painting for about seventeen years. The kids have both won prizes in the Aim Games Kids and Teens art contests too. Everything Aim Games has been a part of their childhood. Prizes are dotted all-round the house, from NASA photos to throwing collectibles like miniature knives to grappling hooks so it’s kind of hard to avoid.

The Aim Games have been very influential on my throwing. It has improved my focus and muscle memory through repetition and physical practice. My family participates as well. My wife has been throwing knives and tomahawks in Indonesia since 2010. The experience is always enjoyable, she loves accuracy challenges. If club members participate in Aim Games, they will be invited to build facilities. And if they succeed in becoming champions, they always set aside a little money for the organization/club.

The prize money is always helpful. In a tough global economic situation, when Indonesian throwers get a reward for their efforts in the Aim Games, of course they are proud, and the reward they get can help them in their lives. From the Themed Art Contests, I can earn prize money and build my professional portfolio. There are a good few Indonesian art contestants who have won prizes and it was very helpful for them. It’s all very exciting for us.

The games have helped my aim out, overall. The target is never the same. You’re not just throwing at the same one or two objects, relying on muscle memory. I believe everyone who has participated in Aim Games in our area has greatly enjoyed the experience and gotten them out of their comfort zone. In K22: Seven Seas, I arranged to have one of our league thrower's brothers to be taught throwing knives, getting him an entry that landed him in 161st in the tournament, all in one night. He had never thrown a knife before that night. Another great Aim Games experience was also during Seven Seas when Travis Blank made the trip up to our venue to throw an IATF marathon and help our throwers with the Aim Games. I personally learned a lot about throwing knives at that event as did many of our throwers.

My winnings from the Aim Games have funded all the targets and paints needed for them and have also allowed me to buy more throwing implements and go to some other tournaments. The prizes have helped supplement my friends and family’s throwing career too. One of the free drawings from Caverns of Mars was won by my wife and was used by her to enter a regional axe throwing tournament.

For me, the Aim Games is the best means for training my throwing skills. Since participating, my abilities have increased by three hundred percent.  I am very grateful for the prizes. Through winning, my family has been able to live better and I can send my children to university. Previously this was impossible for me. I have several neighbors and friends who have played and won in the Aim Games. They praise the games a lot, as they money helps support their families.

Through competing in these tournaments, I have received a lot of praise from my community. Though I did not go to college, I was able to use English and participate. When the news got out about me winning thousands of dollars, it spread quickly through my community and further. So many people were curious about it. Because the value of our currency is very small, the Aim Games prize money is very large to us.

I've become a more precise and confident thrower since starting aim games. Because of practice from participation, my girlfriend Hannah Clark has risen to both 7th place Amateur and top female thrower in the WATL organization. For friends and family, it has been a fun thing to do together, and of course they enjoy winning. I’ve been able to renovate a barn into a house with my prize money and Hannah has contributed from hers. Myself, and Hannah especially, have also won in the Themed Art Contests. It has all been a great benefit.

Darin Bartholomew of the U.S.A, Aim Games competitor and art contestant since 2024

The Aim Games have had a huge impact on me. Through participating in the tournaments, I learned to throw like I do now. I can control my emotions better and I have great sportsmanship. There are 25 members in our club, the Deep Ravine Club, consisting of family, friends and the community in our village. They are very happy to be able to participate in the Aim Games. It’s a wonderful experience for them and they love getting to know fellow throwers from various countries. The prizes from Aim Games are very useful. I can meet my needs, including paying for my child's school fees. Of our 25 throwers, almost 90% have received prizes from Aim Games. This is very helpful for them because the majority of our throwers are in great need of financial assistance. The prize money greatly helps in fulfilling their living needs.

For any clubs and parent organizations in Indonesia, hosting the Aim Games has a very large impact, considering these clubs’ minimal funding. With the winnings, clubs can grow and develop. We can provide facilities and infrastructure. We have even organized regional level festivals four times, with the help of the prize money.

Joko Trisnanto of Indonesia, Aim Games competitor since 2020

Participating in The Aim Games has helped me improve my skills over the last six years as they require extreme accuracy with small targets. They also require exceptional focus, concentration and calm, so the tournaments are great for working on yourself and your skills, which happens every time I attempt an entry. The main reason why I started participating in the games is because I love this sport, and the second reason is because there are valuable prizes. That further motivated me to improve and achieve a better result in order to win more. This motivation became my advantage in building my skills through daily practice. My wife has won very valuable prizes. Once she achieved women’s first place in a past tournament and won a good prize. This motivated her and she still participates when she has the time and opportunity. My sons also participated and won prizes and are very happy about it. One of my friends even won a couple of prizes with the score he achieved and he will come again when he has the opportunity.

I almost succeeded in officializing my sports club for throwing knives and axes at the target, but given the difficult economic situation in Serbia, it is still not possible to provide a space for training. As far as finances are concerned, winning through competing in the Aim Games enabled me to provide for my family through difficult times when I had no other options for earning money except for a couple of part-time jobs. When I have the opportunity to find a space for the club, we will greatly contribute to the Aim Games as I will work to enable competitors to participate and support these tournaments that have brought me joy and fun.

Nenad Radovic of Serbia, Aim Games competitor since 2019

The Aim Games have been very influential in terms of discipline, persistence, concentration and consistency. My friends, family and community enjoy making Aim Games a part of their lives. It’s an incredible experience for them, and they are proud to compete on a global level. The prize money has been extremely helpful to myself, family and community. My self and others who win, use the prize money for children’s school fees, bills, and to take care of each other.

Sularno of Indonesia, Aim Games competitor since 2024

I have become so much better at WATL axe throwing because of the Aim Games. And I wouldn’t have picked up knife throwing, which I love, if it wasn’t for them. My boyfriend, Darin Bartholomew, got me and his parents participating and now we all throw together in our barn! He has also put on a couple of Aim Games events at our WATL venue and it was a great time. It feels awesome to earn some bucks. All four of us have won prize money, and Darin’s winnings helped tremendously. The Themed Art Contest’s requirement for use of non-digital media brought me back to my artistic roots. I had forgotten how much I love colored pencils. Darin also has participated and had a wonderful time spray painting and rendering his ideas. I won a few hundred dollars by placing a few times  and Darin placed with his art in K22: Seven Seas! That was a big plus!
