Personal Testimonials

The Aim Games organization operates with two goals in mind: To bring joy to the international sports throwing community, and to lead the growth of our shared sport. For ten years, we have worked to provide continuous, free opportunities for our community to earn income with their athletic and artistic talents. During that time, we have displayed the measurable successes of multiple hundreds of participants. However, while performance metrics and participation numbers tell part of the story, personal testimonials reveal the impact made in participants’ lives, providing an intimate look into the differences we make as a nonprofit organization. Understanding the scope and nature of our impact strengthens our bond with the throwing community  and creates opportunities to enhance our impact further.

It is important not just to know, but to share these stories as well. Publication provides the greater throwing community with means to not only gain a deeper comprehension of the work that we do, but connect one another in a personal, meaningful way that promotes togetherness. Learning another thrower’s story compels us to reach out to them and make new friends.

As it is in our work to facilitate such means, we are excited to introduce our new Testimonials page, in the Community section on our website. As we are in 30 nations, this page will be a continually growing list of  Aim Games impact stories from around the world.

If you have ever participated in the Aim Games, you can share your own story with us anytime. Our Testimonial Submission tab is located under the Target Stencil Request tab in the upper left quick-link section on our homepage. We look forward to seeing more personal testimonials come our way. Strengthening inter-community networking through sharing experiences and gaining greater insight into the impact of our work is vital to contributing to the growth of our sport.

Accessing Scores & Stats

At the Aim Games, we believe that public access to everything from historical data to live updates is foundational to the entertainment aspect of sports. In this regard, as the visibility and popularity of the Aim Games propel forward, the ability for competitors to track each other, and for friends and fans to follow and learn about their favorite athletes and our games with ease becomes increasingly important.  After twenty-nine consecutive games, each eighty days long, and thirty-two Superstar challenges running three weeks every tournament, we have amassed a wealth of stats, scores and victories in our ten years of operation. To seriously enhance the Aim Games experience, we are continuously dedicating web pages to all of our past and present tournament data.

Our “Tournament Champions" page in the “Featured Athletes” section is a complete list of every 80-day tournament’s first place victors. Every winner’s name is listed in order of each tournament’s end date, from earliest to latest, along with the tournament name and the nation which the victor represents. On our “Superstars” page in the same section, you can find all current Aim Games superstars, organized by the number of Superstars they currently have. Each Superstar is listed along with the nation which they represent and their exact Superstar count.

However, all tournament data can be easily accessed in our “Results” section, where the original final scoresheets for every 80-day game can be found. Our vibrant and engaging scoresheets display all key metrics for each participant and complete tournament data. Including what is found on the Past Winners and Superstars pages, virtually all statistics are located on our scoresheets.

Being informed about the games and their throwers only makes the action that much more engaging.  At just 19 days in, our current tournament H9: Moon Base holds 240 active competitors and 458 valid entries! We are always updating our current tournament’s scoresheets for our fans and participants on our “Current Tournament” page of the "Results" section, and we will continue to ensure that all the exciting metrics which make up the Aim Games stats are proudly displayed.

Artist Interview Series

The Aim Games organization is founded on sports activity, its namesake coming from the tournament series on which it was grown. But we have many focuses within the precision sports throwing industry and community, as is reflected in our programmatic structure. We provide avenues for crafts people to earn bulk sales contracts and direct market visibility. We enable throwing venues to boost revenue, business flow and marketing potential through hosting our Aim Games tournaments for their patrons, at no cost to their business. We sponsor live events and support other organization’s humanitarian efforts, but by far our second largest program is our Themed Art Contest Series, its creation inspired by our founder’s long-standing love and support of the visual arts.

Starting in 2017, the Aim Games have since completed eight art contests, each running for around thirty days. Every contest has at least three categories, which are the themes for the following year’s three tournaments. Contestants create 2D, hand drawn or painted artwork that is family friendly and fits the upcoming year’s tournament themes. These works are used to accompany our social media posts and scoresheets and in general be displayed throughout our social media pages, website and merchandise. The program is modeled similarly after the tournaments.  Everyone of all ages is welcome, it is entirely free, there is no submission limit and there are cash awards to be won as well as point boosts in upcoming games. Additionally, anyone can win once in each category, giving the opportunity to compete to earn multiple cash prizes in one contest. Sometimes our contests have bonus categories such as holiday themes. After eight years, the contests have facilitated an enormous collection of incredible illustrations from dozens of participants, giving artists their own platform to earn, grow and contribute to the Aim Games mission of expanding the world of sports throwing.

Just as we celebrate both the talent and the athletes, we celebrate both the art and the artists. All artwork is required to be signed, and credit is given by name throughout public social media posts, in addition to being displayed on our website and on nearly all of the products offered in our online store. As it is our way to highlight star talent within all our programs, we’re connecting the public with our many Themed Art Contest winners in our Highlighted Artist Interview series, revealing insight into their backgrounds and experience as Aim Games art creators. Both our Highlighted Artist Interview series and select contest artwork from previous winners can be found in the “Art and Culture” section of our website.

Aim Games Interview Series

In our work to elevate sports throwing and evolve our organization’s impact, we find highlighting the successes within the Aim Games community to be a greatly important component. The wealth of skills and talent, countless hours of collective hard work and shared love for the sport among the athletes, performers and business owners, contain unique stories of experience and accomplishments. By gathering these stories, we are building a window to the world of what we do in our Interview Project, a collection of ongoing series published exclusively on our website, featuring the athletes, star personalities and many more who participate in and partner with the Aim Games.

The project was initiated in Spring of 2024 with the “Stars Of The Aim Games”, presenting interviews of the strongest throwers of our tournaments, from around the world. From this series, we are building our Trading Cards project, featuring the best of these top competitors across the history of our games. However, it is but one of many exciting series, active and coming soon.  Currently running along with Stars Of The Aim Games are our “Performance Stars”. We’re reaching out to the living greats of the Impalement Arts, presenting firsthand insight into the performers of the most challenging art in the activity of knife throwing. With “Facilities Highlights”, we’re talking to the throwing venue owners that operate Aim Games lanes in their facilities, hearing their experiences becoming venue owners and both playing and hosting the Aim Games.

In our upcoming "Impact" Series, we’re taking time with those who have earned through competing in our tournaments, opening up an in-depth look into the changes made in athlete’s lives playing the Aim Games. Down the road, in our future Art Contest series we will exhibit what goes into producing themed art for the Aim Games and the artist’s history in participation and successes. The Aim Games community is a rich resource of sports throwing wisdom and history, brimming with insight into our work. In presenting these interviews, we hope not only to teach the world about our organization, but to elevate our community and showcase their stories. We encourage everyone to check out all the exciting interviews currently published and stay tuned for more as we expand the view into the Aim Games and Sports Throwing.

The Traveling Axt

Hailing From: Minot, North Dakota

Established: March 2021

Owners: Tyler Jung and Ron Doty

The Traveling Axt is a truly unique entity within the Sports Throwing Venue industry. While they opened their brick and mortar location in Minot on Mother’s Day of 2023, owners Tyler Jung and Ron Doty have been operating their business as a mobile Sports Throwing entertainment package since its inception in the Fall of 2021. They have done everything from team building exercises, Christmas parties and other corporate events to more personal celebrations such as weddings, proms, homecoming banquets and more. At their venue, the focus is ongoing tournaments and league play. The Traveling Axt can host any league wanted, whether it be women’s, youth, church group, anyone.  All leagues are welcome, and both mobile and venue activities are open to all ages.

Starting as throwers themselves in their backyards and garages, Tyler and Ron eventually found a trailer suited for their needs to open as a company, and in fall of 2021, spent a week welding and fabricating out the trailer for an event the next weekend with a local bar that has been a huge supporter of their business ever since. They cite Dustin Kerr of Perplebunny’s Axe House as being the biggest influence in becoming Sports Throwing venue owners, helping them to get their leagues and tournaments going.

Along with making memorable experiences and spreading the love of Sports Throwing, The Traveling Axt has a serious mission to help athletes improve their game. In 2023, Tyler and Ron saw four of their customers place in the top-8 at the International Ax Throwing Federation’s regional tournament, with two advancing to the top-4.

When it comes to the Aim Games, they’ve been hosting and playing since K20 and say they’ve been having a blast. Tyler tells us, “Our customers have done pretty well with it. We try to explain the general rules and gameplay thoroughly before they start an entry. We also typically help film and make sure to answer questions and help them so they are aiming for the proper target. My wife, Shannon, and one of our throwers, Daniel, help us out and have become pretty versed in the games, quickly. Setup has been pretty quick for all the games, and K20 was really easy. One of the best parts is that you can throw at your own pace and time. Gameplay has been pretty straightforward and the Aim Games staff answers all questions quickly. It has given our customers another target system to throw at and allow them to compete in a tournament that is easy to enter at no extra cost to them. This is a great opportunity”.

We recommend booking well in advance, especially the mobile entertainment packages as they are very popular, but walk-ins are always welcome at their venue. If you’re in Minot and looking for the Aim Games, look no further than the Traveling Axt. Visit their website at https://thetravelingaxt.com and book today!
